ISRI Recycling Collection: K-4, 5-8, & 9-12 Activities

Students unlock the STEM secrets of recycling at a global scale with these free activities and resources

ISRI — the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries — and JASON Learning are proud to partner to help students and educators understand the importance of recycling and the recycling industry, as well learn key STEM topics related to recycling. Rich, standards-based, multimedia curricular experiences for students in grades K–12 include the following elements:

Grades K-4

Guided by videos and activities, students in grades K-4 form an foundational understanding of recycling and the properties of different materials.

Grades 5-8

Students in grades 5-8 develop an understanding of the science behind recycling that leads to the circulation of materials. Through activities and videos, students will learn about the power of recycling, the engineering of materials, and the history of oil.

Grades 9-12
