Mission: Internet for All

Rural communities across the country are developing and implementing plans to provide broadband internet access to ALL of their citizens. Introduction - The Science Behind Broadband

Broadband internet access can bring vital opportunities right into communities and homes, but many people and places still lack this essential resource. Get involved in the science and action of providing Internet for All!

Lesson 1: The Data Needed to Go Digital

Students will explore different mathematical tools to make meaning of data. Demographic and internet usage data identifies who can benefit from increased broadband access or support to make the most of existing access.

Lesson 2: Careers - Bringing Broadband to the People

Students will be connected with broadband internet Career Role Models from Citynet. They will step into their shoes with career-focused videos and activities that are innovative and engaging.

Challenge: Internet for All

Community Challenge: Communities across the country are developing and implementing plans to provide broadband internet access to ALL of their citizens. Broadband access has the potential to positively impact the quality of life of first time users (e.g., social connections, health care access and information, virtual learning, and job opportunities). But what happens if you don’t know how to access or safely use this valuable resource? In this Challenge, your team will develop a sustainable business that develops the digital literacy skills and support needed for first-time users to safely and effectively take advantage of broadband internet access.
