James Ruble, Director, Appalachian Ohio Manufacturers Coalition (AOMC)
Ruble is an entrepreneurial leader in manufacturing with over 15 years of experience creating solutions for education, workforce development and business. Prior to this role, Ruble served in local adult education and economic development roles for the NIST Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) at The University of Tennessee as well as the Director of the Ohio MEP. While at the University of Tennessee, Ruble won “Collaboration of The Year Award” for efforts that helped Industry to understand and connect with university resources. He also has classroom experience, having served as the Engineering and Design instructor for Tolles Career Center where he won the ACTE “Outstanding New Teacher or the Year” award. Ruble, holds a Masters of Educational Leadership, a Masters of Business Administration as well as a Bachelors degree in Technical Management and Associates degree in Quality Technology.

Elizabeth King is currently employed as a machinist at Micro Machine Works. King graduated from Bob Jones University with a Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice in 2012. She earned an associates degree in Welding from Washington State Community College in 2018, and completed a three year apprenticeship in Industrial Technology through the Robert C. Byrd Institute in 2022. King has been a member of the WV Air National Guard as a medic since 2013. She taught welding for women at the Athens Makerspace for a year.

Leffingwell, who has been at the forefront of taking the district to new heights, has been named the 2022 Ohio Superintendent of the Year by the Buckeye Association of School Administrators (BASA).
“I am both surprised and excited to receive this award and honor,” said Leffingwell upon learning of the recognition. “This is truly not something I ever considered as a possibility.

Join us for the insider’s tour as we explore advanced manufacturing right here in Ohio and how companies have leveraged technologies through time to help advance quality and efficiency. We’ll meet key personnel, hear their stories, and get a chance to look “inside”. How has technology changed over time for these industries and what skills and knowledge sets will students need to be competitive in the workforce?

Engineering Manager, Aftermarket Solutions – Cambridge
Josh has been employed by Aftermarket Solutions – Cambridge (formerly Detroit Diesel) for 14 years, holding a variety of positions including Process Engineer and Business Development Manager. He has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree from Kettering University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Wheeling Jesuit
University. Over the course of his 30-year career, he has worked primarily in the heavy-duty truck sector producing truck cabs, engine components and complete engines. Josh has also been involved in design and development of custom equipment that is used throughout various remanufacturing facilities within the NAFTA region. Through these projects, he has learned project management, machine design, and controls integration concepts. He looks forward to sharing the knowledge and experiences that he has gained over the years in various manufacturing environments.
Fernanda Pereira
Factory Performance & Reliability Manager
Fernanda joined Cambridge Colgate in May 2021. Her main areas of focus are driving automation, systems integration and analytics for data-driven decisions.
Her previous role was Senior Improvement Engineer in the Isocyanates Tech Center at Dow Chemical, where she worked since 2011.
Fernanda holds a Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering, a Masters of Business Administration, and a Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
Dan Hooper
Factory Performance & Reliability Coordinator
Dan joined Cambridge Colgate plant in 1998. Dan worked in Natural Gas / Propane Measurement and Production Control prior to Colgate. Dan began his Colgate career as a maintenance electrician and then transitioned to a resource position 4 years later and was responsible for the plant equipment calibration program. In 2009, Dan became a team leader in the site’s sulphonation process where he led the teams through process changes to high active formulas. Now Dan is focused on workforce development and training as part of the plant’s Factory Performance and Reliability team. Dan holds an Associates Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering Technology from Zane State College and a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Technology from Kent State University.

Linn Yost
Owner, Micro Machine Works, Inc. - Barlow
Not only is Linn the owner of a company that he built from the ground up, he is also the President of the Appalachian Ohio Manufacturers’ Coalition (AOMC), an industry sector partnership of manufacturing companies and organizations connecting passionate people with practical experiences and successful careers. Linn currently serves on the Boards of the Robert C. Byrd Institute (RCBI) Apprentice Works Program; Building Bridges 2 Careers (BB2C); and the Curriculum Advisory & Business Advisory Boards of many high schools and community colleges in Southeast Ohio. Prior to becoming owner of Micro Machine Works, Inc., Linn served in a variety of other roles including Past International Manager of Strata-Vision, Inc. - a Division of Nowsco Well Service in Calgary, Alberta Canada and a manufacturer and operator of downhole video inspection equipment primarily for the oil and gas industries. As Owner and Founder of Strata-Vision, Inc. in Barlow, Ohio, Linn and his video team documented the first horizontal well in the United States. He served 8 years in the US Navy as a Photographer in the US Navy, and is an Eagle Scout and past Scout Master.
