Strong educational leadership is crucial for STEM learning in schools and communities—and throughout JASON Learning’s 33 years, we have witnessed exactly that. We are so grateful at JASON to be surrounded by exceptional leaders who are making huge impacts in their classrooms, communities, and in their families. 

We highlight some of those leaders in our newest curriculum collection, “STEM Leadership: Elevating Leaders, Elevating Communities,” which is now live on our Digital Platform! This collection features superintendents from Portsmouth Public Schools (VA), Indian Hill Exempted Village School District (OH), Noble Local Schools (OH), and East Baton Rouge Parish School System (LA). It also provides information on the JASON/AASA STEM Certification program.

Educational leaders who are dedicated to STEM education can inspire and motivate students, teachers, and the broader community to engage with STEM topics and build a culture of STEM for All.

  1. Providing resources: Strong educational leaders can provide the resources that teachers and students need to succeed in STEM education, including funding for STEM programs, access to technology and equipment, and professional development opportunities for teachers.
  1. Fostering partnerships: Strong educational leaders can foster partnerships between schools, businesses, and community organizations to learn about STEM careers and to gain real-world experience in STEM fields.
  1. Supporting teachers: Strong educational leaders can support teachers in their efforts to teach STEM subjects by providing teachers with training and professional development opportunities.
  1. Celebrating success: Strong educational leaders can celebrate the successes of students and teachers in STEM education by recognizing students who excel in STEM subjects, highlighting successful STEM programs, and showcasing the achievements of STEM teachers.

By setting a vision, providing resources, fostering partnerships, supporting teachers, and celebrating success, educational leaders can inspire and motivate students and teachers to engage with STEM subjects and to pursue STEM careers. With outstanding leadership, students and communities can reap the benefits of STEM education for years to come.
