FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ASHBURN, VA (October 15, 2025)—High school students across the country will soon have access to one of the world’s most respected problem-solving credentials: Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification on the JASON Digital Platform. Starting August 2025, students can access a powerful credential that introduces them to industry-tested strategies for solving problems, improving outcomes, and adding value in any career path or industry.

Maximum Potential, Inc. (MaxPT), the first organization in the United States to train and certify high school students in both Lean Six Sigma Yellow and Green Belts (source), developed the course content and is now collaborating with JASON Learning to bring it to classrooms nationwide through the JASON Digital Platform. This partnership combines MaxPT’s proven expertise in workforce-aligned certification with JASON’s nationwide reach in education, making it possible to scale high-impact, real-world learning to students everywhere.

Lean Six Sigma is recognized globally across nearly every industry and equips students with foundational, industry-relevant skills that foster critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership. It helps teams work smarter by finding ways to cut waste, improve quality, and ensure that the customer’s needs are always the top priority.

For too long, industry-grade problem-solving skills have been reserved for professionals. With this partnership, we’re changing that. Together with JASON Learning, we’re making Lean Six Sigma accessible to high school students everywhere—empowering the next generation of innovators, leaders, and change-makers.

Seth Hummel, Co-Founder and COO of Maximum Potential

In Ohio, the Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification counts directly toward graduation requirements and career readiness pathways. The Ohio Department of Education has designated the Yellow Belt (worth 3 points) and Green Belt (worth 6 points) as approved industry-recognized credentials across every career field. Together, they represent 75% of the required points.

This means students who complete the certification not only gain real-world problem-solving experience—they also move closer to earning their high school diploma and advancing toward postsecondary education or careers. By aligning academic achievement with workforce expectations, the certification creates a clear, impactful bridge between classroom learning and future success.

School districts across the country are asking for exactly this type of opportunity: industry-recognized certifications that prepare students for the workforce. Our partnership with MaxPT adds a powerful credential to our growing portfolio, and we’re proud to support students in becoming certified problem solvers.

Dr. Eleanor Smalley, President and CEO of JASON Learning

What sets this certification apart from other providers is MaxPT’s student-centered approach to Lean Six Sigma training. Unlike traditional programs that emphasize only workplace applications, this course helps students integrate Lean Six Sigma principles into their everyday lives—academically, personally, and professionally. The training focuses on building deep understanding rather than rote memorization, empowering students to internalize key problem-solving strategies and apply them in ways that foster meaningful, lasting growth.
