CTE: Advanced Manufacturing – Details Make All the Difference

Artificial intelligence (AI)-powered robots, 3D printing, the Internet of Things (IoT), virtual reality (VR) … there’s a whole world of exciting jobs and careers available to those who have a basic understanding of how to use these Industry 4.0 technologies. In each module of CTE: Advanced Manufacturing – Building a Future-Ready Workforce, students will

  • Investigate new technologies,
  • Explore the ways they impact daily life, and
  • Discover the jobs and career paths that utilize these technologies in their community.

In this module, students discover how Advanced Manufacturing designs, produces, and powers our world. After completing all the activities in this module, students are challenged to innovate and create a component that increases the functionality or value of an existing product used by someone in their community.

Appropriate Age Levels:
Grades 8-12

Examples of Key Concepts & Vocabulary
Industry 4.0 technologies, engineering design, the digital thread, precision measurement, etc.
